TESTIMONIALS

Dear Mr. Martin:

I am writing this as an evaluation of my progress while in your training program for the past three months.

I have been riding for the past twenty years.  That experience included Equitation Shows, Gymkhanas, and trail riding. I rode one horse for approximately 13 years and then purchased a three-year old paint horse.

My formal training included clinics offered by various people in our geographical area.  My informal training consisted of a lot of saddle time both in an arena and on trails, and I spent countless hours attending the school of hard knocks.  My average saddle time consisted of riding weekends for four hours or so each day and the same for most days when I was on vacation.  All this gave me many insights to the art of riding a horse. But it did not prepare me for what I was about to experience.

PRESENT:

For the longest time I had wanted to teach the spin to my horse as well as some of the other reining maneuvers and I experimented with other trainers to no avail.

Upon learning that you had moved back into New York, I decided to give you a try.  I can honestly say I was more than pleasantly surprised.  Indeed, I was astounded!  I was astounded by your knowledge of horses, how to ride them, how to train them, and your ability to teach and impart those concepts and skills effectively.

Through working with you, I have, and continue to improve my horsemanship skills and knowledge of horses.  The concepts I deploy as a result of working with you are and continue to allow me to reach new levels of achievement and satisfaction.  Your communication skills are second to none and the effectiveness of your training techniques are also second to none.

I have found you to be a person of extreme integrity and one with an outstanding sense of business, targeting customer satisfaction at a fair price.  A rare find in today's world!

I urge anyone who seeks professional assistance in improving their horsemanship skills (regardless of discipline) to seek you out and undertake your training program.  Whether it is for reining, equitation, or trail riding, I would give anyone my unqualified recommendation to take advantage of your services!

Keep up the good work, Bruce!  The horse community needs you!

Sincerely,

Dennis F. Mahalick

HERE'S ANOTHER!!

To Whom It May Concern:

On the recommendation of a friend, I took my five-year old Quarter Horse gelding (Chico) to Bruce Martin for a month of training.  My horse was what I would consider green broke.  By that I mean he had no brakes, no power steering, no collection and no headset whatsoever.  I watched Bruce work his magic the day I brought him to the barn. Bruce rode him for about 15 minutes and in that short time, he already had him bending at the poll.

I decided to stay away for the first week and leave Bruce and Chico alone to get to know each other without me interfering. The next week when I went to see him I was in awe!  I thought it was a different horse!  I first watched Bruce ride him and then I got on myself.  He has this wonderful slow jog which feels like being in a rocking chair, and a slow collected lope that is something I had only dreamed about in the past.

Bruce's method of training is so uncomplicated for both horse and rider. In one week's time he had built up Chico's confidence to where he could lope in circles, keep his balance and remain collected.  Before coming to Bruce it was head straight out and go like mad when I would ask him to lope!  Bruce also taught me how to communicate with my horse.  Communication is the release of pressure at the moment your horse starts to do the right thing.  I learned that force creates fear and that communication creates understanding.

I would strongly recommend Bruce to anyone who would like to enrich their relationship with their horse.  Bruce is an awesome communicator: he treats every horse and rider as individuals. He not only helps you understand why your horse acts the way he does, but why and how, you, as the rider, are affecting your horse's response.  I always left the barn feeling great about myself and Chico.

THANKS BRUCE - YOU ARE THE BEST!!

Sincerely,  Laura Lunt

For whom it may concern:

This letter is to recommend Bruce Martin as a knowledgeable trainer, handler and breeder of quality horses. I have known Bruce for over twenty years in a social and a business capacity. During that time he has demonstrated skill in training horses for the show ring and for recreational use.

He has personally trained horses for me and has helped me determine the purpose for which the horse is most suited. He has worked with the local 4-H and other equine youth groups in the area, giving clinics on training and stable management. He readily shares his knowledge and is able to determine the knowledge and interest level of the students.

Besides being a trainer, Bruce has also managed breeding farms and knows the qualities to look for in breeding stock and what lines will cross well. He has managed stallions, mares and young stock with ease and has produced many champions in the show ring. I am especially interested in Paints and have consulted him on many occasions regarding the best horses to cross to increase my chances of obtaining spotted offspring. He freely offered advice and information on the genetic composition of various horses.

I would recommend Bruce Martin as a trainer and sincere horseman!
